Belgium & USA: InBev, Anheuser-Busch in distribution talks-report
InBev, the world's largest beer producer by volume, is in talks with its North American rival Anheuser-Busch to set up a distribution deal, reported a trade magazine, Reuters reported June 22.
Beer Marketing Insights, a U.S. publication, reported that a deal in which Anheuser-Busch, which makes Budweiser, would distribute InBev's European brands, which include Stella Artois and Beck's, in the United States is expected within days
InBev told Reuters June 22 it would not comment on these market speculations. The same day, at 1230 GMT, shares in InBev were up 1.28 percent at 36.48 euros. Shares in Anheuser-Busch closed at $45.65 June 21.
